Horizontal Osborne-Reynolds Demonstration Module Didactic Equipment Vocational Education Equipment Fluid Lab Equipment
Description
AFF217 Horizontal Osborne-Reynolds Demonstration Module Didactic Equipment Vocational Education Equipment Fluid Lab Equipment

1. Product Introduction
1.1 Product Description
Common flow patterns of fluids can be classified into three types: laminar flow, critical flow, and turbulent flow. These three flow patterns can be determined using the Reynolds number, a dimensionless number used to characterize fluid flow. The Reynolds number can be used to distinguish between laminar and turbulent flow, and can also be used to determine the resistance encountered by an object flowing in a fluid.
In the AFF217 Horizontal Osborne-Reynolds  Demonstration Module, streamlines during laminar or turbulent flow are displayed in color with the aid of injected contrast agent (ink). Experimental results can be used to determine the critical Reynolds number.
The experimental setup consists of a transparent tube section through which water flows, with a flow-optimized inlet. Valves are used to regulate the flow rate in the tube section. Ink is injected into the flowing water, and a layer of glass beads in the tank ensures uniformity and low turbulence.
The experimental setup can be easily and safely placed in a laboratory. Water is supplied and flow rate is measured using laboratory tap water.
